Building the Foundation - AI Knowledge for Everyone

The first step was to raise awareness of AI across the workforce and provide practical know-how. Together with Carano, the hypescale team analyzed which topics were most relevant for different business units. From Software Development & Engineering to Customer Success Management and all the way to Executive Management.

  • Training for more than 70 employees across different departments

  • Development of 140+ training slides as a robust reference resource

  • Delivery of foundational knowledge on AI, machine learning, and generative AI

  • Concrete use cases that could be applied immediately in day-to-day work (prompt engineering)

From Knowledge to Execution - Launching Pilot Projects

Interest in practical application grew quickly. Many employees wanted to do more than learn about AI - they wanted to use it actively. Together, we designed a multi-month evaluation process that strongly accounted for the high priority of data protection.

The pilot projects confirmed that AI can significantly increase productivity at Carano when introduced in a structured, security-focused way.

Long-Term Sustainability Through Data Protection

Despite positive experiences with cloud-based AI services, one central topic remained: data protection and data sovereignty. Together with hypescale, Carano developed a long-term strategy based on local AI models.

These models should run in-house on dedicated systems or on servers in Germany or the EU.

This enabled Carano not only to meet the highest data protection standards, but also to gain strategic independence from international providers.

Building an Internal Knowledge Base

Work is already underway on the next expansion stage: the build-out of an internal knowledge base. The goal is to centrally consolidate data from JIRA, Confluence, and multiple software projects and make it searchable and usable via AI-supported systems. This will make knowledge more accessible across the company and further accelerate decision-making.
