Overview

In the face of ever-growing demand and to optimize operational efficiency, diva-e approached us to develop an application that could reinvent their order processing and delivery system.

The primary goal was to have a platform where employees could instantly receive orders on their mobile devices, prepare them for pick up, and coordinate with the delivery vehicles for seamless customer deliveries. Given the nature of the business and potential network issues, offline capabilities were essential.

Using Vue.js, we built a robust and user-friendly application that catered to these needs, ensuring uninterrupted service regardless of connectivity.

What we did

Leveraging Vue.js as our frontend framework, we built a reactive, component-based application tailored to the unique demands of order processing and delivery. This framework's modularity ensured both scalability and a streamlined user experience.

One of the standout features was the incorporation of IndexedDB. This low-level API allowed us to store vast amounts of structured data on the client-side, a key feature for offline functionalities. No matter the connectivity status, employees could store orders locally and sync when reconnected.

In the realm of delivery coordination, Google Map API played a pivotal role. With it, we achieved real-time location tracking, efficient route planning, and accurate delivery time estimates. The seamless integration of this API transformed the delivery process, making it transparent and efficient.

The design phase was another area where we excelled, thanks to Figma. This tool enabled a collaborative approach to UI/UX design. Stakeholders from both diva-e and the client's side could interact in real-time, refining the application's visual and functional aspects.

Emphasizing the criticality of Offline Capabilities, we went beyond just IndexedDB. Service workers were integrated to cache crucial assets, ensuring the application remained fully functional even in low-connectivity areas.

Lastly, the decision to adopt Typescript significantly elevated the quality of our code. By introducing static typing, interfaces, and other advanced features, we ensured our application was not only high-performing but also robust, scalable, and resistant to potential bugs.
